Gandhi Institute of Advanced Computer & Research (GIACR) formerly “IACR” was established in the year 1999. Initially, the MCA course was introduced. In 2001 the B. Tech. Degree Course was introduced with three branches namely Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT) and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE). In 2002 Mechanical Engineering and in 2003 Civil Engineering courses were further introduced. Eligibility Criteria

For Admission to First Year Bachelor Programme in Engineering/ Technology:
Passed or appearing in 2012, 10+2 examination of CHSE, Odisha or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects from Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology / Geology / Statistics. In the year 1989, 10 students entered into a small dingy room which was supposedly their school and this was the first step towards a big dream visualized by a visionary educationist Dr. Satyabrata Minaketan, the Founder-Chairman of ODM educational group. With numerous degrees into his pocket and myriad career options before him, this man chose an unsteady and thorny path of establishing a school which would be a school with a difference and serve the mankind with real knowledge.That small room with 10 students was the beginning of what you see today as ODM Public School.

With no external support and no godfather, the school rose to heights and crossed several milestones year after year. A secondary school was set-up for Socio-Economic Backward children in 1992 followed by the school’s secondary branch in 1996. It then moved into a small campus with 350 children. Soon the quality of education, individual attention to students saw the numbers rise each year. It was only in 2005, the school took a giant leap by opening the Senior Secondary branch which saw the enrollment of 35 students in its first year. Following that, ODM became the first +2 CBSE residential school in Odisha, when it first introduced residential facilities for Senior Secondary Science students. The School has witnessed its evolution from a small building to a sprawling campus spread on 4 acres of land with 5 main blocks, from 10 students to a whooping 3500, from 2 teaching faculties to a fleet of 300+ staff. BIMTECH Bhubaneswar, (Birla Institute of Management Technology PGDM) offers a two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Management which is approved by AICTE. This programme has the advantage of using a rich knowledge capital, developed by the G.Noida campus over the last 25 years.

Admission into the programme is screened based on qualifying any one of these competitive exams i.e. CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT/GMAT. Thereafter, Written Essays / GD and Personal Interview process is conducted with the support of senior corporate managers to select students for the programmes. Final selection into the program involves suitable weightages allocated for Work Experience, Academic and Professional Qualifications, Regional background etc.

PGDM is conducted in close association with the industry. From the admission of the students to the designing of the curriculum and providing opportunities for short term projects, summer internship and final placement, they are our partners. The rigorous regime inculcates in the participants the ability to work under pressure, multi-tasking besides giving them a strong academic base. Wading through classes, guest lectures, presentations and assignments, students also learn time management, which is an essential requirement for being a successful manager.

The PGDM programme is divided into six trimesters. Marketing, Finance, HR or Operations is offered as a specialization from the third trimester. Students are also exposed to the corporate world through industry-academia interface, special guest lectures, workshops, summer internship and short term projects, all of which are a part of the course design and has to be compulsorily taken up by the students. Live projects and industrial visits, jointly guided by the industry managers and faculty, develop students’ understanding of modern business processes and practices. A two month summer internship assignment with a corporate is mandatory between the first and second year. In addition, students complete 2 -3 short term projects as well.

Eligibility (1st yr. B.Tech) :
Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2012 or 2013; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2014 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2014. Candidates who passed Class 12th /Qualifying examination in 2011 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2015 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)-2014. Candidates who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2011, did not pass in 2011, but passed in 2012 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2014.

Eligibility & admission procedure for the academic session 2013-14

MCA (3 years full time programme)

Eligibility :- Pass or appearing in 2013, for the Bachelor’s Degree examination of minimum three years duration in any discipline from any University of Orissa or equivalent recognised by UGC and having passed in Mathematics at 10+2 level. Business mathematics at +2 level are not permitted. Should obtain at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to SC/ST category) at the qualifying examination.

Admission: Candidates will be selected from Odisha JEE merit list during counseling by OJEE 2013.

NB: There is no age limit for admission to MCA course.
