The Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme supports outstanding postgraduate students from developing and emerging economies throughout Africa, Asia and South America.

The Louis Dreyfus Foundation aims to promote sustainable agriculture, food security and self-sufficiency, particularly through education and direct support to farmers, with a specific focus on developing countries in the above-mentioned regions.

One of the Foundation’s goals is to address the challenge facing humanity to double global food production in a sustainable way in order to feed a rapidly growing population.

This scholarship forms part of the wider Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme, managed by the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust. For more information, including details of the leadership programme, please see the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme web page.

The scholarship will cover 100% of University and college fees and a grant for living costs (of at least £14,296). Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course.

Scholarship outcomes: Decisions are expected to be made by the end of May 2017. If you have not heard from us by this time, then please assume that your application has been unsuccessful. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we regret that we are unable to contact unsuccessful applicants individually or provide feedback on applications.

Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme Eligibility

You should be intending to return to your country of ordinary residence once your course is completed. Students currently at Oxford are not eligible to apply unless they are already Weidenfeld-Hoffmann scholars.

The Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld Scholarships and Leadership Programme targets future leaders pursuing diverse careers with a focus on improving food security and sustainability. Successful applicants must demonstrate that, following their academic studies at Oxford, they are committed to serving the global community through their chosen field of work, including but not limited to: the agricultural industry, development areas, politics and/or law related to food security and/or sustainable agriculture, health care, environmental and water management, economic, public and foreign policy.

You should be able to demonstrate a connection between your subject of study and your longer-term career objectives, explaining how you see your professional work contributing to the improvement of public life in your country of origin or at a wider regional or international level. This scholarship seeks to support individuals who, following completion of their supported studies, will go on to actively engage in the chosen fields listed above.

The above qualities will be assessed during the selection process, including using your graduate application form, your Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships Questionnaire and (if relevant) your interview.

This scholarship is not open to applications from candidates who hold deferred offers to start in 2017-18.

Charpak Master Program Scholarships

This scholarship is designed for one to two years of studies in France at the Master’s degree level for all streams and fields of study.

The Charpak Master Program offers two kinds of scholarships based on merit:

a) Charpak AME Scholarship (Allocation Mensuelle d’Entretien):
• Living allowance 615 euros
• Medical insurance coverage (approx 300 euros / academic year)
• Student visa fee waiver (16,500 INR approx)
• Assistance to find affordable student accommodation

Note: Full tuition fee waiver at public universities or partial tuition fee waivers by other institutions, can be granted according to their individual policies

Please note that no reason will be given for rejection of an application. The French Embassy is not obliged to respond to candidates whose applications are incomplete. Incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration.
Applicant must:

be an Indian national and reside in India
be a student currently enrolled at an Indian Institution of higher learning or a young professional employed in a company for a maximum of 3 years at the time of application
be 30 years old maximumat the time of application
the course must take place in France. If you have one semester or more of studies in another country, the scholarship will not be provided during that period.

An exception will be made for Charpak scholarship holders who are currently completing their M1 in France. They may reapply for a second year of funding in order to complete their M2. There is no automatic renewal of the scholarship at the M2 level. Acceptance will be subject to academic performance at the M1 level and a new statement of purpose.

Non-scholarship holders currently pursuing M1 in France are not eligible for the scholarship.

Selection Procedure:Your application will be selected on the basis of your academic excellence, as well as the consistency and quality of your statement of purpose. There is no CGPA / percentage cut-off for the scholarship. Knowledge of French will be an asset but is not mandatory. A tie-up between your current Indian institution and your future French institution will also be an asset.

Step 2: Complete

Read the application form carefully and fill each section of the Word format document by using Arial, font size 10. Do not alter the format of the application form.

Your statement of purpose should explain why you chose the French institution to which you have applied or have been admitted, as well as your future plans upon completion of the course. Explain why you would be a worthy candidate for the scholarship. Mention how you initially came to know about the Charpak program. Your statement of purpose should be one page long (maximum length). Important – ensure that your statement of purpose is original.

Step 3: Submit

Send the following documents to scholarship.france@gmail.com :

Application form duly filled, signed, printed and scanned
Scanned copy of the first page of your passport (with photo and expiry date). If you will be getting your passport after the deadline, please attach passport application proof.
Full Curriculum Vitae (maximum 2 pages)
Scanned copy of the admission/acceptance letter from the French higher education institution. If you have not received it before the deadline, attach an email correspondence to show that you are in the process of getting the acceptance letter from them.
Attested (by a gazette officer or the Head of the institute where you studied/are studying) scanned copies of mark sheets of Higher Secondary School (XII), Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees (including those of completed semesters of the ongoing degree)
French language certificate if any (from Alliance Française in India or any recognised university or Xth marks card if French was your second language)

The subject of your message to scholarship.france@gmail.com should mention the type of program you are applying to i.e. Masters. Photos of documents instead of clear scans will not be accepted.

Prime Ministers Scholarship Scheme

It is intimated to the ESM / their Widows whose wards are selected for PM’s Scholarships are required to submit their renewal applications whenever due through this web-portal as the paper applications would be discontinued from 01 Jun 2016. Please note that those candidates who have already forwarded their paper applications to KSB Sectt are not required to re-submit online again.

Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme was introduced from the Academic year 2006-07. To encourage higher technical and professional education for the dependent wards and widows of Ex Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard personnel (below officer rank only).

It is also intimated that the timeline for online submission of new applications for the PM’s Scholarships for Academic Year 2016-17 would be publicised through this web-portal and newspapers in Aug 2016.

Students Eligible for Scholarship

(a) Students who have taken admission in 2016 are only eligible to apply for PMSS 2016-17 online on KSB web portal www.ksb.gov.in. Students should have scored 60% and above in Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) i.e 10+2 / Diploma / Graduation.

(b) Students studying in 2nd and subsequent years are not eligible.

(c) Students who are Dependent Wards & Widows of Ex Servicemen & Ex Coast Guard personnel who died in harness / disabled due to causes attributable to military service / coast guard service, irrespective of the rank.

(d) Dependent wards of Ex Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard personnel and their widows (below officer rank only).

Fedbank Hormis Memorial Foundation Scholarships

Fedbank Hormis Memorial Foundation Scholarships Applications are invited for Scholarships and the last date is 25th November 2016.

Fedbank Hormis Memorial Foundation, the public charitable trust formed by Federal Bank to perpetuate the fond memories of its founder K.P. Hormis, has invited applications for the Foundation’s scholarships for 2016 Batch.

Applications for scholarships are invited from students studying in the states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Maharashtra for Medicine (MBBS), Engineering (B.E/B.Tech), Agriculture (B.Sc), Nursing (B.Sc) and MBA courses.

Twenty students in each discipline, of which one seat will be kept aside for a physically challenged student (duly evidenced by a certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of DMO or an approved Medical Officer of the Bank), will be reimbursed 100% of the fees as per the fee structure for seats allotted in the Government quota in Govt., Aided and Self-financing colleges, subject to a maximum of Rs. 1,00,000/- in a year up to the normal completion of course. If there are no sufficient applicants in the ‘physically challenged’ category, then cases of less than 40% also will be considered. Any disruption on account of any kind of failure will make the student ineligible for scholarships. If applications are not received from eligible candidates under ‘physically challenged’, it will be utilized under general category.

Conditions:

The student should be of Indian origin and studying in any of the states- Kerala,Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Maharashtra, in any of the Govt./Aided/Self-financing colleges duly recognised by any of the Universities in India. The fees should be in parity with the fees approved by the Govt, for Aided/Self-financing colleges under merit list.
The student should have secured admission under Merit List during the academic year 2016-17 in the respective course.

Family income of the student should be below Rs. 3.00 lakh per annum.
The decision on selection of eligible students and on payment of the scholarship by the Managing Trustee shall be final & binding on all concerned.

Incomplete applications are not considered

Hard copy of the application along with the documents is only accepted and soft copy is not accepted

Applicant Should not hold scholarship from any other institution or trust

If shortlisted for interview the following documents are to be submitted in original for verification along with a self-attested photocopy of the same.

Mark list of the qualifying examination in original or duly attested copy of the same by the Principal of the college where you are studying at present.

Bonafide certificate from the College stating that you are doing the course mentioned in the application for the scholarship.

Fee structure of the course specifying the Tuition fee & periodicity of payment duly certified by the Principal of the College.

Original tuition fee receipt for remittances made during academic year 2016-17(for reimbursement).

Original of the Income Certificate of your parents.

Proof of address and one passport size photo

A self declaration that, you are not having any other scholarship at present.
