Housing Emergency Fund

The Housing Emergency Fund is provided by the University to address urgent student housing needs. If you are a current student threatened with homelessness owing to financial hardship, well being reasons or other circumstances beyond your control you should apply for help.

Eligibility

Is this for you?

Registered students of the University shall be eligible to apply to the Fund if they meet the following criteria:

A payment from the fund would make a significant contribution to your ability to continue your studies successfully; and
You have an urgent housing need that can be addressed through an award by the fund; and
You are unable to meet the immediate costs of your housing needs through your existing funding.

The level of award will be judged on a case to case basis. Awards are around £300-£500 and are intended to meet immediate short term housing need. Because of this the fund cannot be used to replace a regular income. Awards will normally be made in the form of a grant.

How to apply

Please complete an Application Form and submit to the Financial Support Team in the Advice Centre on level 1 of the McCance building.
