I am the Change Scholarships

History:Team Everest is sponsoring the education of school and college students from 2006. Recently in 2015, we launched a school Scholarship program for 100 parentless and single parented kids in Arni, Tiruvannamalai Dt, Tamilnadu called ‘Smile 100’.

I am the change scholarship is an initiative of Team Everest NGO through which we provide scholarship for single parented and parentless students, who are financially poor, good at academics and willing to do their graduation.

Students from Tamil Nadu who are currently in plus-2 and would write their public examination by March, 2016 are eligible for this scholarship to join their graduation.

In India today, only 10% of our children go on to college. We, Team Everest believe that education is the only sustainable solution to overcome poverty.

Hence we have launched ‘I am the Change Scholarship’ for single parented and parentless students who are financially poor, good at academics and willing to do their graduation. Team Everest will sponsor up to Rs 30,000 per student per year for fees and Rs 5000 for training purposes. This scholarship will be provided till a student completes their graduation provided they meet our criteria throughout the course period.

Team Everest will also conduct weekend training programs to train the students on the various skills to ensure that they are job-ready when they graduate.

Under this scholarship, students are not just beneficiaries. They will act as ‘Change agents’ too. Hence, every student who receive the scholarship will do internship with Team Everest and will commit to certain number of volunteering hours each month to make a difference in the community they live in.

Note: We have allocated 25% of the scholarship slots for students who are affected by Chennai floods during Dec-2015.
