Keeping in view of Emerging Scenario in Technical Education and to cater ever growing need for skilled manpower particularly in and around Sambalpur, where a cluster of Giant Industries have come up & with a Vision to impart Holistic technical education a trust was set up as Harnarayan Education Trust.
In the fond memory of his Grand Father “Seth Harnarayan Agrawal” Born in the year 1899 he was a great visionary of his time, called as SETH during British India by the locals because of his enumerable contribution to the society. He was Instrumental in setting up Panchayat College of Bargarh & Trust Fund College of Sambalpur.
The Trust has decided to set up a New Diploma Engineering Institution namely “BADRIPRASAD INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY” in Sambalpur, naming the institution after his Father “Sri Badriprasad Agrawal” .
Born in the year 1924, did his matriculation from George High School, Bargarh, went to Kolkata to study in prestigious “ Scotish Church College” Kolkata. Very active in sports, fond of Football & a philanthropist. Bargarh Dist. Athletic Assn. organizes “BADRIPRASAD MEMORIAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT” every year since last 30 years.
